I Like This Light

by Julie Daniel on February 7, 2010

in Design

The other day I was doing some fine dining with my girl friends at Silver Diner when I noticed these pendant lights:

I really like them, I knew immediately where to find something similar.  Schoolhouse Electric has some of the most awesome fixtures.  Here is what I found that is comparable to the one I saw [...]

My Favorite Place On Earth Part 4

by Julie Daniel on January 24, 2010

in Design

This should do it with pictures from The Homestead! I’m bummed the pictures I took of these gorgeous blue velvet club chairs is too big to upload.
I love this light fixture!  It looks like something you could find from Schoolhouse Electric or Rejuvanation.

In love with this lavender china… gorgeous.

I love candles with little lamp shades [...]

World Market Gift Certificate!

by Julie Daniel on November 17, 2009

in Design

My step-mom just gave me a gift certificate to World Market.  Well, someone had given it to her to give to me in 2001 and she just now got it to me.  Better late than never!
I’ve been thinking about what to get with it, and as you know from yesterday’s post, I need a new [...]

I think I found a good compromise… Seascape offers a similar pendant light at a [...]

The other week I wrote here about how I am on a mission to find a chandelier similar to this one from Restoration Hardware but for much cheaper.

Site of the Week- We Are Slip

by Julie Daniel on March 17, 2009

in Design

We Are Slip has some funky and whimsical lamps and fabrics.

They are really fun- almost seems like something you would see in a Dr. Seuss book, or like Gaudi designed them (BTW- if you are ever in Barcelona you MUST go see some of his buildings!).

Site of the Week: 1st Dibs

by Julie Daniel on February 21, 2009

in Design

Antiques scare me… who knows who owned them or if they died on the piece of furniture?  I know it is majorly weird.
I am going to have to get over my phobia because I am beginning to LOVE the website 1st Dibs.  It lists antiques from various dealers.  Here are some great things on there [...]

And the Ekarp floor lamp which I love even more:

I saw a lamp very similar to this one in this month’s Elle Decor by Comfort & Co.  It was [...]

Product Recommendation: Blythe Chandelier

by juliemdaniel on December 18, 2008

in Design

I love the Blythe Chandelier from Restoration Hardware.
When people think of a chandelier I’m sure this is not what pops into their head.
It has a very clean feeling to it, and you would see a chandelier more like this than this typical one in my house.  I’m not into that frou frou ornate classical stuff.  [...]
